BIKINIARTMUSEUM FOUNDATION &
“INTERNATIONAL BOARD OF SWIMWEAR HISTORY”

Archive for everyone and expert advice
M

The BikiniARTmuseum will create a central facility that will bring together all historical and contemporary knowledge around the world on the subject of swimwear and bathing culture.

This archive should be available not only to visitors to the museum, but to anyone interested, in particular pupils, students, fashion enthusiasts, curators or journalists.

We support the global
project “The Ocean Cleanup”
Sustainable, environmentally improving and social projects should be supported, also out of responsibility towards the next generations. The start-up project that we support is called The Ocean Cleanup. This is a project of Dutchmen Boyan Slat with the aim of Plastic waste in the oceans collect and purify rivers.

BAM strives to make a contribution to the stated goals. Around 320,000 disposable cups end up in the trash every hour in Germany. We've developed beautifully designed, reusable coffee-to-go cups. The summery design puts you in a good mood and the coffee tastes all the better. Furthermore, 30 cents are donated to CLEAN OCEAN with every purchase of the drinking cups.

Previous members are Ghislaine Rayer from Miami (swimwear expert, collector, book author) Helmut Schuster from Miami (art expert, curator, WEAM), Roger Fritz(†) from Munich (photographer, actor and director), Bruce Wigo from Fort Lauderdale (former president of the “International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF))” and Lilian Pacce from São Paulo (journalist and curator). Two representatives from the BAMs will also be involved. With the opening of the BikiniARTmuseum, the committee starts its work. In addition to transferring knowledge and supporting environmental projects, it is important to focus on the topic of “liberating women into comfortable swimwear.” The freedoms prevailing in western countries in particular are not taken for granted worldwide.

Roger Fritz: BikiniARTmuseum loses one of its protagonists
The VIP photographer, actor and director dies unexpectedly at the age of 85

The shock is huge! In the midst of preparation for another joint project, news is spreading about the unexpected death of the Wahlmünchner. Alexander Ruscheinsky from the BikiniARTmuseum:
“With Roger, I and BAM lose a friend, a very extraordinary and truly wonderful person. He has really helped our museum as a photographer, sponsor, passionate fan and, above all, with his involvement in the Foundation and left his mark. We will miss him and his fine, positive nature a lot. ”
Roger Fritz became known worldwide for his acting (including with Romy Schneider) and as a set photographer (including Rainer Werner Fassbinder). The popular star photographer (including Ursula Andress, Beatles, Alain Delon, Udo Jürgens), who assisted and learned from the great Luchino Visconti in the early 1960s, is represented with his photo art in the BikiniARTmuseum. We show his incomparable photographs, which depict national and international stars such as Uschi Glas, Elke Sommer, Udo Lindenberg and Luchino Visconti in a very intimate way while bathing in Munich, Ibiza or St. Tropez.
Roger, we're going to miss you! Our heartfelt condolences go out to his entire family.
