Amy Winehouse: Between Blues & Bikini

July 23, 2022 — March 31, 2024

She is considered one of the most successful singers of the 21st century, who achieved legendary status with her distinctive smoky timbre, a genre mix of jazz, soul, blues and pop, her characteristic retro look and also due to her early death.

On the 11th anniversary of the soul legend's death, the BikiniARTmuseum is now dedicating its own exhibition to the eventful life of the exceptional singer and her very personal relationship with swimwear for the first time in Germany: 15 original pieces of clothing owned by Amy Winehouse, including bikinis, offer not only an intimate insight into the singer's extravagant wardrobe, but also into her life away from stage and lightning storms. Whether it's swimwear, lingerie, everyday wear or stage outfit — the singer always exceeded all style categories with her choice of clothing.

The garments were all purchased by the BikiniARTmuseum at an auction in November 2021 and are now available to the public for the first time until March 31, 2023.

Marlene Dietrich. The diva. Your posture. And the Nazis.

October 8th to May 30th, 2022

The one from the Oberhausen Memorial Hall with support from Marlene Dietrich Collection Berlin Realized traveling exhibition reconstructs Dietrich's decidedly hostile attitude towards the National Socialists and her tense relationship with her homeland after 1945. In addition to her exceptional acting talent, Marlene Dietrich is also regarded as a style icon — but Dietrich in bikini? A rarity! In the temporary exhibition, the museum is showing a bikini she wore in 1938 from her private estate, as well as originals of a very unusual pen pal relationship that she maintained with the father-in-law of BikiniARTMUSEUM curator Jürgen Kraft on Usedom.
